WEEK 4
Posted August 18, 2009
on:Hi there, i hope everyone is well and enjoying their holidays!!
Ive been working on the website since last week friday, saturday and sunday, but i havent made any progress this week as im working in a play group, believe me it is VERY tiring!!
Any way, about my website, i have made a new website banner and logo, as well as trying to set up more pages onto the website. Both took a very logo time As i was trying to blend the colours in with the website theme; i didnt know the exact css colour of the webpage and always found lighter and dark colours. I even tried to change the whole theme by using bright colours, however, I couldnt use images i made for the website for the sidebars as there was no option in google website to load an image for the sidebar but only change the colour.
Here are the colourful banners i wanted to use at first:
Here are the banners (in making) for the google slate theme i made:
HERE IS THE FINAL BANNER I MADE:
The logo was made at first like this…
BUT THEN THE LOGO WAS CHANGED TO THIS…
Also i have made a university of westminster logo for my website; i have changed it to make it blend with my website; cathy told me that the website logo is changing, so i thought id make a different logo for my website. I played around with the designs and colours then started finding a type of wmin logo i wanted:
I have made a page on events in which i made a table; it is empty at the moment, but it will be filled in when there are any events of the biosciences society. I have also been successfully been able to put on a timetable which i can click on (with help from Iqbal) and load pdfs onto the same page. I have also made a new timetable which shows modules in different semesters:
Im trying to find out how to highlight the different icons (modules) in a different colour so that the modules dnt appear to disappear when i run my mouse over them. Also i hope to find a function in adobe fireworks in which the pdfs can popup on a different tab or webpage.
Furthermore, i have made a feedback page in which i embedded a google gadget feedbacker, it does successfully work, but i will work to change it to blend in with my website. This is how it looks at the moment:
I hope to now make more timetables and upload them onto the website as well as start filling in the pages of the website.
Thank you,
Amber
